Trophy Guide & Roadmap

If you prefer to watch videos instead of reading the guide, feel free to do so. There is a playlist that covers every trophy on my YouTube channel. If you'd like and subscribe or even become a member, it would mean a lot to this channel!

Step 1 - Quickplay

The first step is mainly about getting to know the basics of the game while taking a look at all 12 tracks the game has to offer.

All Decked out
Customize all available parts on a single vehicle
Before particpating in our first race we can already unlock the first trophy. In the main menu you'll find "Customization". Go there and swap all possible parts to unlock this trophy. If it doesn't work for whatever reason, try it again at the end of step 2. During this and the next step you'll automatically gain a lot of XP and for every level up we earn a new customization.
Baby steps...
Compete in a race in quickplay
This trophy is our reward for finishing our very first Quickplay race. We don't even need to win.
Just getting warmed up
Compete in 10 Quickplay Races
Unlocks automatically on the way to Welcome to the veteran club!.
Been there, Done that
Win a Quickplay race on all 12 Tracks
Winning races isn't hard at all, especially on Rookie difficulty. Just keep in mind, that you can't see which tracks you've already won at. So it's recommended to race all 12 races from left to right in one session. Here's a checklist in case you need it:

Welcome to the veteran club!
Compete in 25 Quickplay Races
If you complete this entire step on Rookie difficulty, there is a very high chance that you need to finish 13 more races after unlocking Been there, Done that. If you want to get them done as fast as possible, pick Martinsville as the track for the remaining races.

Step 2 - Rookie Cups

This step takes roughly 2 hours to complete. We need to win all 9 cups on Rookie difficulty. You are going to visit every track three times during this step. Whether you use this time to practice the tracks and improve your lap times is up to you. I would recommend it, but it is not necessary :)

Well... this is neat
Win your first Cup, on any difficulty
Unlocks after the Rising Talent Cup.
Participation trophy
Complete your first Cup Series, on any difficulty
Unlocks together with Well... this is neat if you win the cup on your first try. It's the reward for just finishing a cup.
I want more..
Win 2 Cups, on any difficulty
Unlocks after winning the Velocity Rush Cup.
A long journey ahead
Reach XP level 25
We receive XP for every finished race. If you started your platinum journey with Quickplay and continued with the Rookie Cups, this trophy should unlock during the fourth cup.
A Fine collection
Win 4 Cups, on any difficulty
Unlocks after winning the Nitro Sprint Cup.
Rookie of the Year
Win all 9 Cups on Rookie difficulty
This is our main goal of this step. Unlocking this trophy also unlocks Packed trophy cabinet. Every cup consists of 4 races, so we have to run a minimum of 36 races to complete this. You highly likely won't need more than that, because it is nearly impossible to lose a cup on Rookie difficulty. The AI always has mixed results, making it very easy to win a cup, even if you lose a race or two.
Packed trophy cabinet
Win all 9 Cups, on any difficulty
Pops together with Rookie of the Year.

Step 3 - Elite Cups

This step is the most annoying one for me personally. It requires us to do the same 9 cups we completed for step 2 again, but this time on Elite difficulty. Why they didn't make the trophies stackable is beyond me. Luckily winning on the Elite difficulty is nearly as easy as it is on Rookie diffculty.

50 ways to get rewards
Reach XP level 50
If you followed this roadmap so far, you should reach level 50 somewhere around the third Elite cup.
Are we there yet?
Reach XP level 75
If you followed this roadmap until this point, you should achieve level 75 either during the penultimate or the final Elite cup.
Where Legends are made
Win all 9 Cups on Elite difficulty
This trophy sounds quite daunting at first. If you try to keep up with the AI the whole time you would have to hit all boost pads and use your boost like you would in the time trials. But there is absolutely no need to fight them, because the rubberbanding is brutal. No matter how good you drive, they'll catch up to you regardless.

That's why we turn the tables and use the rubberbanding against the AI. Just ride relaxed until the end and make sure your boost is completely full. You can then deplete it 1-3 turns before the finish line. With this strategy, no one will be able to catch us to the line and you will almost always win. Only in Martinsville we have to split the boost over the entire last lap.

If you already completed all cups on Rookie difficulty you won't be able to see which cups you won on Elite. So here's another checklist for you, in case you need it:

Step 4 - Online Cups

By now you should have won 18 cups and have a good feeling for what is necessary to beat the Elite AI. If you're looking forward to do something else than racing in cups now, I have some bad news for you. We need to win 10 more, but this time it has to be done in Online Mode. The servers are deserted, but the good news is that the game has Cross-Gen support. That means if you have a friend that owns this game on PS4 you can create a lobby together. The rest of the field will then get filled with Elite AI drivers. You can deal with them the same way you did in step 3.

Ready or not
Compete in a single online race.
Unlocks after we finished our first online race, the result doesn't matter.
There's a first time for everything
Win your first online Cup Series
Unlocks naturally while we work on The New Alpha!.
I'm just getting started...
Compete in 10 Online races
Unlocks automatically during the third Online Cup.
Finally got somewhere...
Compete in 25 Online races
Unlocks automatically during the seventh Online Cup.
Top of the mountain
Reach XP level 100
If you won all the cups of the previous steps, you should reach level 100 easily before participating in your tenth Online Cup.
The New Alpha!
Win 10 cup series online
There isn't much more to say about this trophy. Find a friend to work on this together or use your PS5 & PS4 in case you're lucky enough to have both. To beat the AI drivers you can use the same strategy you used to win all Elite Cups. After a cup is over you and your friend can either continue or restart the cup. To restart the cup, both of you have to press on the results screen. Doing so saves a lot of time, because you immediately restart the same cup you just did and don't have to create another lobby, invite your friend again and so on.

Step 5 - Time Trials

This is the final step and the only skill-dependant one of the game. To complete it, we need to beat all 12 time trials, one on each track.

Gold Rush
Beat a single Gold Medal times on Time Attack
Please refer to G.O.A.T.
G.O.A.T
Beat all 12 Gold Medal times on Time Attack
The key to success is to maintain a high speed the entire time while not using too much of our boost. Therefore it is very important to hit all possible boost pads. Additionally we have to use the pitlane on each but the last lap to refill our boost. The pitlane doesn't slow us down like it does during cup races. To better understand how the boosting should look like to beat all trials I'd recommend to watch the final video of my playlist. It gives you a far better general idea on how to use the boost than I could ever give you with just using words ;)

Some of the time trials like Phoenix or Chicago may still require multiple tries, even after you understood the technique. But don't give up, it'll work out eventually and then the platinum trophy is rightfully yours.
