Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged

Trophy Guide & Roadmap

If you prefer to watch a video instead of reading the guide, feel free to do so. There is a playlist that covers every trophy on my YouTube channel. If you'd like and subscribe or even become a member, it would mean a lot to this channel!

Step 1 - Tutorial

The tutorial is a good place to perform 10 lateral dashes and 20 jumps. It's not necessary during this step, but since you have to complete the tutorial anyways you also might want to make the most out of it. Jumping 20x also clears our first Unleashed mission.

Out of control
Perform 10 lateral dashes with any vehicle.
To perform a lateral dash we need to press either (to the left) or (to the right). They require a little bit of boost.
Acrobat
Perform 20 jumps with any vehicle.
Jumps are performed by pressing twice.
Mission complete
Complete your first Unleashed Mission.
This trophy will pop naturally. To earn it during the tutorial we need to jump 20 times within the three laps.
Rookie
Complete the tutorial.
At the start of the tutorial we have to pick one of 6 different vehicles. I'd recommend Street Stealth or Power Pro. After picking the vehicle we have to drive a 3-lap tutorial to learn basic controls and new features like lateral dashes and jumps.

Step 2 - Track Builder

In "Track Builder" we can choose between "Circuit" and "Course". To validate a "Course" all we need is a starting and a finish line. The validation can then be found within the Options menu.

Stage animal
Validate a track in Track Builder mode.
If you want to do this quick, select to create a Course, place a starting and finish line and validate the track by just driving straight.

Step 3 - Multiplayer

This is a good time to earn the 2 multiplayer trophies of the game. We don't need to win anything, just complete 10 races.

Solo
Complete a Quick Race in Multiplayer mode.
Please refer to International license.
International license
Complete 10 races in any online mode.
This is one of the two online trophies in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2. Unlike in the first game, where five wins were required, we now need to just complete 10 races in any online mode. These can be either Quick Races or Elimination events. These races can also be done in a private session.

While working towards this trophy, we will also unlock Solo for completing a Quick Race in Multiplayer. If you decide to not race any Elimination event in this step, you'll also unlock It's me you have to beat.
It's me you have to beat
Complete 10 races in Quick Race mode.
This one comes naturally. Either already in this step or during Career Mode.
Globetrotter
Complete a race in every environment (except the Track Room).
To earn this trophy, we need to complete a race in each of the 5 environments, except for the Track Room, which is primarily intended for community-created tracks.

The five environments required for this trophy are:
  • Arcade
  • Backyard
  • Gas Station
  • Mini Golf Course
  • Dinosaur Museum
Don't worry about this trophy, you'll unlock it automatically during Career Mode at the latest.

Step 4 - Career Mode - The Octopus

Even though it sounds difficult at first, completing all Unleashed goals of an area is actually pretty easy. On "Easy" difficulty they shouldn't pose any problems. The first area "Tropical Island" has only 6 events. The last one is the boss fight against the octopus.

Well begun…
Complete the Unleashed Goal of an Event in Career mode.
Unleashed Goals represent the most difficult objectives within an event, designed to reward players with extra bonuses. These goals vary, from finishing first place in races to surpassing specific time limits in Time Attack events or achieving high scores in Drift Master challenges. In the very first event called “The Beginning.” we complete it by finishing 1st.
I'm in charge here!
Complete all goals of an area in Career mode.
The simplest location to complete all required goals is Tropical Island, the initial island in Career Mode. This island features six events relevant for the trophy, each with easy Unleashed Goals to achieve. To complete these events with minimal difficulty, set the game to Easy. This can be adjusted by pressing the Options button and changing the AI difficulty while you're in the Career Mode.
The Octopus
Defeat the first Boss in Career mode.
Octopus is the first boss of the game. During each boss fight, the boss has a limited amount of health points. To reduce their health, we must race along the track and hit specific targets positioned ahead. While racing, the Rage Meter steadily rises. If too many targets are missed and the meter completely fills, our car will be destroyed, resulting in failure of the boss fight. The boss is defeated when their health reaches zero, achieved by successfully hitting enough targets.

Step 5 - Vehicle Management

Before moving on with chapter 2 of the Career we can get rid of some trophies by visiting our garage really quick. After defeating the first boss or early during the second chapter you should possess 15 skill points and at least 2 upgrades. If you buy a car now that you already own (Better too much), you can get 5 trophies in under 3 minutes.

Shopping time!
Make a purchase at the Shop.
Just buy a vehicle you already possess. If you like you can work on ...Is half done here too.
Beyond the limit
Upgrade the type of any vehicle.
Please refer to Perfectionist.
Perfectionist
Upgrade the type of a vehicle to Ultimate.
"Ultimate" represents the highest upgrade tier available for a vehicle, granting access to specific Skills for use. To reach this Ultimate tier in Vehicle Management, we need 3 Upgrade Kits, symbolized by wrenches. These kits can be earned by leveling up or completing Career Mode events.

First, unlock the Powered tier by spending 1 Upgrade Kit (don't spend Coins, we need as much as possible later). This will unlock Beyond the limit. Then, unlock the Ultimate tier by spending 2 Upgrade Kits.
Spoiled for choice
Buy all the skills of a vehicle.
This can be combined with Better too much. In Vehicle Management, each vehicle features 15 Skills that can be unlocked and equipped to improve performance on the track. To earn this trophy, we need to unlock all 15 skills on any chosen vehicle. Each skill requires 1 Skill Point, so a total of 15 Skill Points must be acquired. These points can be earned by leveling up, scraping cars in the Garage, or completing Career Mode events.
Extra gear
Equip any vehicle with a skill.
To access a vehicle’s skills, navigate from the main menu to Garage, then select Collection. Next, press to enter Vehicle Management for the chosen car. Within Vehicle Management, there are three different colored categories of perks available. Unlocking these perks requires Skill Points, which we gain by leveling up, scraping cars, and completing events in Career Mode.
Better too much
Equip any duplicate vehicle with 7 skills.
To earn this trophy, we need to obtain a duplicate of a vehicle already owned and equip it with 7 perks. Start by visiting the Shop and look for a vehicle displaying the "Vehicle Owned" tag underneath. Purchase this vehicle to get the duplicate, which will appear in your Garage as "Variant 2". You can find this variant by selecting the vehicle and pressing Up / Down to switch versions.

Next, open Vehicle Management for this duplicate car. The duplicate must be upgraded to the Ultimate tier. After upgrading, we need to unlock and equip 6 perks. Among those, 4 perks must be of the same color, activating a bonus 7th perk that further enhances the vehicle’s performance.

Once all seven perks are equipped (not just unlocked), the trophy will pop.

Step 6 - Hard AI Quick Race

The game has one difficulty specific trophy. If you go for it after the little preparation from step 5 you should be good to go.

Now try online
Win a Quick Race on Hard AI difficulty.
If you followed the last step, winning a Quick Race on Hard difficulty shouldn't be that hard at all. Take your fully upgraded vehicle to a short and easy track and get the only difficulty specific trophy out of the way.

Step 7 - Career Mode - The Scorpion

The second chapter of the Career doesn't offer many trophies. Just keep racing and accept a challenge.

Challenge accepted!
Accept the challenge of a Challenge Event in Career mode.
This trophy is ridiculously easy. As the name suggests, all we need to do is accepting one. We don't have to complete it.
The Scorpion
Defeat the second Boss in Career mode.
Scorpion is the second boss of the game.

Step 8 - Career Mode - The Terrordactyl

During the third chapter of Career Mode you may unlock a couple of trophies, depending on your completion rate so far. If you won every available event so far, you should be able to earn 4-5 trophies before meeting Terrordactyl.

Versatile riding
Complete a race in every offline mode.
There are 5 different offline modes we need to participate in. Quick Race, Time Attack, Elimination, Drift Master & Waypoint. The trophy unlocks automatically during Career Mode, when you finish the frist Drift Master event which will take place during Chapter 3.
Masterful!
Reach the podium 25 times in any mode (not unlockable in Split Screen mode).
Please refer to Terror of the road.
A little nest egg
Earn 100,000 Coins in total.
Accumulating 100,000 coins may seem challenging, but it is relatively straightforward. Coins are earned through racing and Career Mode provides ample opportunities to collect coins, especially by completing all Unleashed Goals and redeeming rewards, which are indicated by white markers in each area. It is important to note that the coin count is cumulative. There is no need to have all 100,000 coins at once.
Like lightning!
Use the Boost for 30 minutes in total.
We can use our boost to speed up our car by pressing . 30 minutes of boost use should come naturally during chapter 3 or 4 in Career Mode.
The Terrordactyl
Defeat the third Boss in Career mode.
Terrordactyl is the third boss of the game.

Step 9 - Career Mode - The Yeti

In chapter 4 of the Career Mode we are going to collect some automatic trophies, nothing special. So you can just focus on winning races and clearing ultimate challenges.

Look, Mom! No track!
Complete 5 races in Waypoint mode.
Assuming you participate in every available event during your Career, you'll reach the fifth Waypoint race during chapter 4.
Immortal
Complete 10 races in Elimination mode.
Assuming you participate in every available event during your Career, you'll reach the tenth Elimination race during chapter 4, shortly before meeting the Yeti.
The Yeti
Defeat the fourth Boss in Career mode.
Yeti is the fourth boss of the game.

Step 10 - Career Mode - The Nitro Bot

This is the final chapter of Career Mode and you're going to get 3 trophies for just completing the events of this chapter.

Drift champ
Complete 10 races in Drift Master mode.
Assuming you participate in every available event during your Career, you'll reach the tenth Drift Master event during chapter 5.
The Nitro Bot
Defeat the fifth Boss in Career mode.
Nitro Bot is the fifth and final boss of the game.
Tools of the trade
Get all the Track Builder Modules.
Each time we beat a boss, we unlock a unique Track Builder Module. That means beating all five bosses automatically unlocks this trophy as well.

Step 11 - Cleanup & Grind

With the career done and probably a lot of money in the bank, it's time to take care of all trophies we haven't looked at so far.

Extreme conditions
Complete the goal of an Extreme Event in Career mode.
After beating the career by defeating the final boss, a couple of new events will become available. Those are "Extreme" events. As long as you play on the "Easy" difficulty, the only extreme thing about it is that they are done extremely quick.
You're good at this!
Reach level 20.
You'll earn this automatically during career and on the path to Magic trick.
Magic trick
Reach a new Prestige level.
To reach a Prestige level, we must first achieve Level 30 and then level up once more. After each event, XP is awarded based on our finishing position. Career Mode offers abundant XP, especially by completing all Unleashed Goals, including Challenges and reward markers that grant additional XP, helping us approach the maximum level. The Prestige level is indicated by a diamond icon with the number 1, displayed alongside the our current level in the in-game profile.
Can you keep a secret?
Obtain a 'Secret' vehicle.
Secret vehicles can't be bought. They can only be unlocked by completing Unleashed Missions. But don't worry too much about these missions. Reaching the prestige level for Magic trick unlocks the secret car "Duck 'N Roll". Others like the "Volkswagen Beach Bomb" and the "Cosmic Coupe" unlock after completing all events in Career Mode.
Shapeshifter
Reach the podium with a Rocket, Off-Road, Balanced, Drifter, Swift, and Heavy Duty vehicle.
You probably earned this trophy already. If not, make sure to reach the podium with all 6 classes at least once while grinding out the 100 podiums.
Terror of the road
Reach the podium 100 times (not unlockable in Split Screen mode).
Podium finishes are only possible in Quick Race and Elimination, which means your victories in other offline modes do not count towards this trophy. Most of this progress will be made while playing through the Career Mode. Setting the AI difficulty to Easy increases the likelihood of finishing in the top 3 consistently. This will also help unlock Masterful!, awarded at 25 podium finishes.

After completing Career Mode, it is highly likely that some podiums are still needed to reach 100. Remaining podiums can be earned by replaying Career Mode events or participating in short Quick Mode races. To check your progress, press Options in the main menu to view your profile, then press to see how many races you played so far.
Drifting teacher
Drift for 500,000 centimeters (196,850 inches) in total.
It's possible that you still need to drift more centimeters after finishing on the podium 100 times. If so, select a quick Drift Master event on tracks like "drift" created by Ima-Mirk-You. If you can't find it, it's just a big oval without any obstacles. I had to drift in circles for about 10 minutes.
Spin the wheel
Spin the Hot Wheels™ Spin for the first time.
Please refer to Eagle Eye.
Spendthrift
Buy 25 vehicles at the Shop.
Please refer to ...Is half done.
…Is half done
Get half of the Collection vehicles (DLC excluded).
This trophy requires us to own 71 different cars. Always buy the cheaper ones to have enough money left for "Eagle Eye". For that we need all 15 Super Treasure Hunt cars, which means owning 56 other cars is sufficient.

Instead of obtaining and opening Blind Boxes as in the first game, new vehicles are now acquired through the Shop and the Spin Machine. Additionally, some vehicles can be earned by completing specific Unleashed Missions.

In the Shop, various vehicles are available for purchase using HW Coins. Prices vary depending on the vehicle’s rarity:
  • Common — 2,000 coins
  • Rare — 3,500 coins
  • Legendary — 5,000 coins
  • Super Treasure Hunt — 6,000 coins
The Shop’s inventory refreshes every 45 minutes automatically, unless we refresh it manually for 350 coins. Vehicles already owned are marked with "Vehicle Owned" below their listing. Using the Shop, we earn Shopping time! upon making the first purchase, and Spendthrift after acquiring or purchasing 25 different vehicles.

The Spin Machine is another method to obtain new vehicles. Completing certain Unleashed Missions or leveling up grants Hot Wheels Spin Tokens. These tokens can be used to spin the machine for a chance to win a new vehicle. Vehicles featured here are of Rare, Legendary, or Super Treasure Hunt rarity.
Eagle eye
Get all the Super Treasure Hunt vehicles.
All 15 Super Treasure Hunt vehicles appear randomly on the wheel or in the shop. One costs 6,000. If you don't see one, refresh the shop for 350 coins. Obtaining these cars relies heavily on luck and a large amount of HW coins due to the random rotation of available vehicles. There are two main methods to acquire Super Treasure Hunt cars:

The Shop:
Keep an eye on the Shop for Super Treasure Hunt vehicles, which are marked with a thin red line under the vehicle’s name. The Shop rotation occurs every 45 minutes, giving plenty of time to gather coins by completing events or selling unwanted cars from the Garage in case you see one that you can't afford. You can manually refresh the Shop for 350 coins per attempt if the desired vehicle is not present. This method is the most efficient way to collect all 15 vehicles, but thousands of coins may be required due to the randomness of rotations.

The Hot Wheels Spin Machine:
Earn Hot Wheels Spin Tokens by completing specific Unleashed Missions and leveling up. The Spin Machine is accessible from the Garage via the main menu. Prizes rotate every 30 minutes, and spinning the machine with tokens offers a chance to win Super Treasure Hunt cars. Here they have a golden background. Spin the wheel unlocks upon the first spin of the machine.

It is recommended to save coins from the Career Mode and to combine this effort with ...Is half done, which involves collecting half of the vehicles in the base game.
