Trophy Guide & Roadmap

If you prefer to watch a video instead of reading the guide, feel free to do so. There is a playlist that covers every trophy on my YouTube channel. If you'd like and subscribe or even become a member, it would mean a lot to this channel!

Introduction to time skipping

To speed up gameplay and trophy progress, we can adjust the PS5/PS4 system clock manually:

Step 1 - Building a balanced Vault

Before we start sending any of our dwellers to quests we need to create a solid vault, that never stops working. When the tutorial wants us to create a power generator, build it below the ground floor to maximize the efficiency of this room. Keep adding new dwellers to your vault until you are allowed to build an Overseer's Office.

Atom Splitter
Merge 3 Power Rooms
When we place three Power Generators directly next to each other, they will automatically combine into a larger unit. For rooms to merge, all of them must have the same upgrade level.
Dine and Dash
Merge 3 Food Rooms
When we place three Diners directly next to each other, they will automatically combine into a larger unit. For rooms to merge, all of them must have the same upgrade level.
Project Purity
Merge 3 Water Rooms
When we place three Water Treatments directly next to each other, they will automatically combine into a larger unit. For rooms to merge, all of them must have the same upgrade level.
Mattress Stuffer
Collect 1000 caps
Caps are the currency of Fallout Shelter. We earn some by rushing rooms, completing quests or objectives and by finding the guy that hides in our vault from time to time. It's impossible to get to the platinum without reaching a total of 1000 caps.

Step 2 - Building Training Rooms and completing the first quests

The game features different training rooms, we can install in our vault to increase our dwellers S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, which in return make quests easier and productions more efficient. Here are the effects that matter the most to us:

Strength (Weight Room)

Perception (Armory)

Endurance (Fitness Room)

Charisma (Lounge)

Intelligence (Classroom)

Agility (Athletics Room)

Luck (Game Room)

With 20 dwellers in our vault we can build the Overseer's Office. Building it triggers the first quest that serves as a tutorial.

Hard Work is Happy Work
Successfully complete 50 Room Rushes
We initiate Room Rushes by selecting a room and pressing Up on the D-Pad. Before confirming, we can view the incident rate to decide whether or not to proceed. Rushes are only possible in rooms that produce ressources or medicine.
  • When a Room Rush is successful, our Dwellers receive experience points and we earn bonus caps in addition to the usual reward.
  • If the rush fails, an incident occurs, such as a fire or a roach infestation, that must be handled.
Vault-Tec Architect
Build 25 rooms
Please refer to Vault-Tec Engineer.
Better Settler
Level up a dweller from Level 1 to 10
Please refer to Overseer.
Weaponsmith
Craft 10 Weapons
We can begin crafting weapons after constructing a Weapon Workshop. This facility becomes available once our Vault population reaches at least 22 Dwellers. To craft a weapon we must have the necessary materials for the chosen blueprint. Materials can be found during quests or by scrapping weapons and outfits.
A Vault For My Vault
Collect 10,000 Caps
Earning 10,000 Caps is just a matter of time. It'll happen naturally way before we reach our twentieth mission, especially when we decide to take care of the 50 Room Rushes early on.
Wasteland Wanderer
Complete 10 Quests
Unlocks naturally after our dwellers return from their tenth successful quest. Recommended quests to start with are "Broadsides", "Can’t stop the signal", "Headshots", "A Map to the Stars", "Target Practice", "The Path of Paula Plumbkin", "A Thirst for Adventure", "First Down" & "Second-Stringers".

Step 3 - Automated Vault & Raider Attacks

Our goal during this step is to fully automate our vault so that we can deal with Raider Attacks while being AFK. For this to happen, we need 3 Mr. Handys. Two of the quests listed for Urban Ranger have one as guaranteed reward. The other one is completely luck-based and can either appear in a Game Show Gauntlet quest, a lunchbox or an objective. In my experience, Game Show Gauntlet is your best bet. It is a reoccuring weekly quest. Hold your number of dwellers at 30 or below until you got Get Off My Lawn.

You're Fired!
Kill 10 Quest Bosses
This one pops naturally over the course of 100 quests. Boss enemies are visualized with a red skull next to their health bar. They deal more damage than normal opponents and have more health. Other than that they aren't special.
Enemy of the Wastes
Kill 500 enemies on Quests
This happens naturally during our 100 quests as well. It is recommended to visit every room, as long as your crew has enough health and stimpaks, to find more weapons, theme pieces, outfits etc. Doing so should unlock this trophy before completing your 30th quest or shortly after.
Urban Ranger
Complete 30 Quests
Recommended quests are these in the shown order: "Third and Goal", "The (Thinly Veiled) Plot Thickens, "Collateral Murder", "The Cat Burglar", "Gameshow Gauntlet", "Paula's in a Pickle!", "Into Vault 333!", "Tankbusting", "Return to Vault 333", "All Sales Final", "Truth Among the Ashes", "Overrun", "Thyme is Money", "Powered Up!", "The Road to Vaultopolis", "The Vault-Tec Vantage", "The Quest for Vault 525", "Playing Politics", "Game Show Gauntlet", "Nubbed from Nuka-World", "Bug Hunt", "Whack-A-Mole", "Aim for the Head!", "Rock Them Like A Hurricane", "The Most Dangerous Game", "12-Point Buck".

Added to the ten from Wasteland Wanderer, you'll end up with 36, but I put them here because "12-Point Buck" rewards us with a Mr.Handy and this is pivotal for this chapter of the guide.
Higher and Higher
Level up a dweller from Level 1 to 25
Please refer to Overseer.
Get Off My Lawn
Successfully stop 50 Raider Attacks
Probably the most annoying trophy, because not even time skipping helps with this. Raider Attacks are a random incident. As long as we keep our number of dwellers below 31 there is a 33% chance for a Raider Attack. The other two incidents at this point are Vault Fire and Radroach Infestation. An incident happens randomly 5-27 minutes after another has ended.

If you have 3 Mr. Handys, assign them so that they can collect Power, Water and Food from the three rooms you built for the first three trophies of this guide. They will take care of your vault and keep it running. Assign your two best soldiers to the vault door and equip everyone who works on the ground floor with your best weapons and outfits. With this setup they will defeat the raiders without any problems, which means you can let your console run overnight to make progress. Just take a look every 6-8 hours, in case one of your Mr. Handys exploded. If that happens, repair it for 2.000 caps.

Step 4 - Vault Expansion & 60th Quest

After dealing with the necessary Raider Attacks we can finally expand our vault again and get even more quests done.

Big Pharma
Collect 100 Stimpaks and 100 RadAway on Quests
This is another one of those trophies that should pop naturally during our 100 quests. Aside from weapons, theme pieces, blueprints, outfits and junk, we can find Stimpaks and RadAways. To unlock this trophy trophy we need to pick up 100 of each.
Smooth Talker
Make 25 Dialogue Choices on Quests
You'll come across many dialogue choices during your quests. The chosen answer doesn't matter. You may earn this during step 3 already, if you need more Game Show Gauntlets to get another Mr. Handy. However it pops naturally on our way to Legend of the Wastes.
Fashionista
Craft 10 Outfits
We can start crafting outfits after building an Outfit Workshop. It becomes available when we accomodate 32 dwellers. To craft an outfit we must have the necessary materials for the chosen blueprint. Materials can be found during quests or by scrapping weapons and outfits.
Prepared For The Future
Make 25 Babies
The most effiecient way to increase our Vault population is by pairing a male Dweller with a female Dweller in the Living Quarters. When they spend time together and have high charisma stats, they will eventually start dancing and move out of view. After a brief period, the female Dweller will reappear, visibly pregnant. Three hours later, a new Dweller will be born. The newborn will need another three hours before becoming eligible for work.

Pairing Dwellers from the same family tree does not result in pregnancy; the game prevents this from happening. However, a male dweller can share the living room with three different women at the same time.
Paint 'n Elbow Grease
Collect all Fragments of a Theme Recipe
Please refer to Interior Designer.
Survivalist
Complete 60 Quests
Here are 24 recommended quests to complete after those from Urban Ranger: "Gobble Gobbler!", "The Door Buster", "Who's Carving the Turkey?", "A Delicious Trail of Danger" Start, "The Last Gobble!", "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", "Clearing a Path", "In Hot Pursuit", "Stop the Presses!", "Playing Catch-Up", "Friendly Settlement!", "Pet Peeve", "Taking Out the Trash", "A Refreshing Rescue" , "The Mysterious Disappearing Spuds", "Radroach Roundup", "The Spreading Blight", "Fons Vivus", "The Night Watch", "Our Cups Runneth Over...With Failure, "Spear Fishing", "The Red Rocket Reveal!", "The Shadow Wolf", "Vaultopolis Awaits!".
Vault-Tec Engineer
Build 50 rooms
This should happen naturally on our way to Home Sweet Home, given that be keep building multiple living and storage rooms to deal with rising numbers of dwellers and junk. We don't have to build 50 single rooms, just build something on 50 different tiles.

Step 5 - Final Steps to Platinum

At the beginning of the final step we focus on getting the remaining quests done. Once we have those and the 100 objectives completed it's time to create a backup save and use the time skip to gather enough lunchboxes for legendary outifts and weapons.

A Better Future, Underground
Upgrade 20 Rooms to Level 3
We should earn this trophy naturally by taking advantage of each room’s upgrade potential. All rooms except for the Elevator can be upgraded to Level 3. Each upgrade becomes more expensive but improves resource production and overall efficiency. If you don't care about wasting caps you can upgrade every single room before merging them to speed up this trophy.
A Little Off the Top
Change the appearance of 10 Dwellers in the Barbershop
More Than Handy
Craft an Outfit, a Weapon, and a Theme
We are allowed to build the barbershop as soon as we have 50 dwellers in our vault. Once it is build, assign a dweller to the room and select any new haircut. Repeat this process for 9 more dwellers to get the trophy.
Decorator
Collect all Fragments of 4 Theme Recipes
Please refer to Interior Designer.
Scraptastic
Scrap 500 items
During quests we'll collect a lot of outfits and wepaons we don't need. Instead of selling them, we need to scrap them. But don't scrap items with yellow names, those are legendary ones. This trophy is very very tedious, therefore it's recommended to make a habit of scrapping unnecessary items after every quest.
Overseer
Level up a Dweller from Level 1 to 50
  • Only Dwellers who start at level 1 are eligible. Dwellers received from Lunchboxes at higher levels do not count.
  • Dwellers in S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Stat Training rooms do not earn experience while they remain there.
  • Dwellers who are actively crafting in crafting rooms earn nearly double the experience compared to those in standard production rooms.
Home Sweet Home
Build 1 of every room type
There are 23 room types in total, not counting the elevator. The last room type becomes available once our Vault population reaches 100 Dwellers. Once we unlock it, build at least one of every type. The most efficient way to increase our population is through reproduction.
  • Once we make progress in the game, we can build a Radio Studio to attract new Dwellers from outside the Vault.
  • The Overseer's Office allows us to start rescue quests, which often bring Dwellers with higher stats into our Vault.
  • Using the reproduction method alone is fast enough to reach the 100 Dweller threshold.
Legend of the Wastes
Complete 100 Quests
Here are 40 more recommended quests, some are seasonal and related to Thanksgiving, Christmas or Halloween. If you want to play the same exact quests, you can use the time skip method to get them: "The Spirit of Taking", "To Grandmother's House We Go", "Santa's Helpers", "The Mole Rat Man", "Christmas at the Raider Camp", "The Case of the Captured Canine", "Game Show Gauntlet", "Cheer for the Ghouls", "Rescue Santa!", "Half Full, Half Empty", "The Case of the Missing Mitt", "Water Into Brine", "Heat of the Knight", "Game Show Gauntlet", "Live Dead Drop", "Science Cooperative!", "Take Me Out to the Ball Game", "Aqua Nuka-Cola", "Den of Thieves", "Undercover Operations", "SOS!", "Dogs of War", "Canine Recovery", "Springing the Trap", "The Final Hunt", "Vault-Tec Experiment Review", "Beat Reporting", "Matters to Settle", "Aqua-Schema", "Game Show Gauntlet", "Parley Time", "Crime Scene Investigation", "Mall Madness", "Death Revealed?", "Shotgun Wedding", "Vault 789", "Give Me Liberty and/or Death", "Science Cooperative!", "Vault 199" Start, "Lunchbox Run".
Interior Designer
Craft every Theme
The game features a total of 8 themes:
  • BoS diner
  • BoS living quarters
  • Institute diner
  • Institute living quarters
  • Minutemen diner
  • Minutemen living quarters
  • Railroad diner
  • Railroad living quarters
Each theme is made up of 9 individual pieces, resulting in a total of 72 pieces across all themes. We unlock these pieces by completing Quests. Additional pieces may be found randomly during quests. Once we collect all 9 pieces for a given theme, we can craft it at the Theme Workshop.
  • Missing theme pieces may be purchased with Nuka Cola. This strategy works best after completing 100 quests once only a few pieces remain and we have adequate Nuka Cola to complete the set.
  • Theoretically, possessing enough Nuka Cola allows us to buy all theme pieces directly, removing the need to find them in quests.
Overachieve Much?
Complete 100 objectives
Objectives are small tasks assigned to us during gameplay. These tasks range from leveling up a Dweller, assigning specific Dwellers to rooms, to completing specific combat actions. We can only have three active objectives at any time. By opening the quick menu and scrolling down to the ribbon, we can view our current objectives. If an objective seems too difficult or time-consuming, we can skip it by pressing . Skipping is free once per day, we can skip more by spending Nuka-Cola.
Fashion Statement
Collect 20 Legendary Outfits
Please refer to Armed and Dangerous.
Armed and Dangerous
Collect 20 Legendary Weapons
Legendary Weapons and Outfits can be obtained in several ways. We can craft them in a Workshop, loot them from containers encountered during quests, or receive them as rewards upon quest completion. However, the most efficient way is using time skips to jump 7 days at once to get lunchboxes. But make sure to create a backup save before doing that, in case something goes wrong. The 20 legendary weapons/outifts don't have to be unique.
Platinum Trophy
Collect all other 34 Trophies for this Trophy.
