Art of Rally

Step 1 - Free Roam

Free Roam can be accessed at any time we like. We unlock one map at a time after collecting everything on each map. If you like to work on you're here for a good time, not a long time. already, make sure to pick "el fujin" as your car. It can be found in Group A (the fastest cars in the game). Not every trophy of this step must be done here, it's just my recommendation.

On the first map "Korkatti Lakes" the car wash is in the starting area. All we need to do is drive through it.

if in doubt, flat out!

hold the accelerator for 60 seconds

This can be difficult if we try to do it the intended way. But there is an easy solution, just hold & at the same time and keep going this way for 60 seconds.

Just to the left of the car wash in "Korkatti Lakes" is the paint booth. We must drive through it like we did with the car wash.

This happens naturally, don't worry about it. At the latest when you go for maximum attack.

This should unlock naturally when you collect all items in a single session without quitting out to the main menu. If not, we can unlock during one of the longer career rallies. After two stages, we can repair the car and wash it at the same time. Just don't wash it and the trophy should unlock at one of the following stages.

That's another trophy which unlocks naturally while playing the game. It should pop while going for all collectibles. Otherwise the trophy will come later in career.

Step 2 - Career

The career is the main mode of this game and takes roughly 12 hours to complete. Our only goal is to finish all these rallies without using up our rewinds. Only one rally must be won, for the rest our finishing position doesn't matter at all.

It sounds much harder than it is. In the Group 2 chapter of the career the cars are very slow and to damage a car, we would have to crash into an obstacle really hard. Just try your best to stay on the track and finish a stage.

This is the only trophy that requires us to win a rally. This can be done on easy difficulty.

spend 5 minutes airborne

This happens naturally during our career or maybe even during the Free Roam step already. There are a lot of jumps during our career.

The 1971 season is the first one that features an italian rally. Just pick "la regina" and finish the first stage there.

The 1973 season takes us to a perfect spot for this trophy. On the very first stage in Norway, we'll come across a blue ramp. Just try to park the car so that two wheels are positioned between the ramps or park it on the side of a ramp while two wheels hang off the edge.

We get to our first rainy stage during the 1975 season. Just finish it.

Our first night stage occurs in Norway in the 1976 season. Just finish this stage.

Rally #2 of the 1976 season takes place in Germany. Pick "das 199e" and finish the first stage of this rally to pop the trophy.

group b

For this trophy and barely keeping it together it is recommended to select severe damage before a rally. The german rally of the 1976 season is good place for it. Some of the german stages feature boundary stones right next to the track. Hitting those twice with high speed should set the car on fire. Once you see the flames, finish the stage.

Similar to group b but with a third crash at high speed. You may recognize that the black smoke slightly intensifies, that's the sign for a nearly totalled car. Finish the stage without any other collision, because the next one is highly likely terminal.

The end of the 1976 season also marks the end of the Group 3 chapter and unlocks this trophy.

Our first stage under foggy conditions is the first stage of the Group 4 chapter. Just finish it to earn this trophy.

Depending on when you completed the weekly event, this trophy will either unlock right at the end of the Group 4 chapter or at the beginning of the Group B one.

Snowy conditions are exclusive to stages in Norway. The third stage of the 1984 season offers us the first chance to get this trophy by just finishing it.

This is yet another trophy you'll probably unlock naturally while playing through the career. In case you complete the game without unlocking this trophy, you can farm rolls in Free Roam or in Norway by intentionally falling off ramps.

maximum attack

Group A cars are the best choice for this trophy. During the career chapter of this group we'll visit Kenya where we can unlock it. Karura is the first kenyan stage of 1992 and offers some long straights.

drive 500km with one vehicle

If you use the same car for the entirety of the Group A chapter and for all Free Roam collectibles, you should get this trophy somewhere in the final championship of the career. Don't worry if not, the reommended method for 1000 stages will net you this trophy very quickly.

Bonuses in this game are not unlocked by fast times or wins. The only thing that matters is that we have at least one rewind left at the end of every event.

Step 3 - Cleanup

The final steps of our trophy hunt include the online mode, the only difficulty-related trophy and farming stages and kilometers.

For this trophy we must finish a weekly event, which normally consists of 4 stages.

The recommended strategy is quite simple: Pick an easy-to-handle car like one of Group 2 and a simple stage like “lake nakuru” in the rain. The master ai isn't doing good in the rain, so there is more room for mistakes.

absolute drift

This trophy is only available after completing the 1996 season in Career mode. Everything else is very simple, just take "the original" and drive any Japanese stage at night.

If you used “the fujin” for all Group A rallies and to get all collectibles and to farm stages, you should reach the 555 km roughly after 3-4 terminal damages as described in if everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.

With a Group A car this can easily be done in “gonnesweiler”. From the start, speed up the car and crash into the guardrail of the first quick turn. This method doesn’t work if we touch the grass, so stay away from it. Stages with terminal damage are not counted in the stats. After completing the career mode and both online events you should be right around 217 total stages. If you decide to use this method, you’ll get to 1000 stages after roughly 3 hours. Take a look at the “odometer” stat in the car selection screen to track your progress. For me the trophy popped after 18.607 miles.
