Arcade Archives 2: Ridge Racer

Step 1 - Original Mode

If you ever played the original game on PS1, you'll immediateöy recognize this mode. It's basically the entire original game. To gather all trophies of this mode we need to complete the first three races.

ORIGINAL MODE START

"ORIGINAL MODE" launched.

This trophy pops upon starting this mode.

ORIGINAL MODE Clear NOVICE

Cleared ORIGINAL MODE in the NOVICE.

Novice is the first race with the shortest track and slowest car. It consists of just two laps. We don't need to win the race, it's sufficient to reach the finish line before the timer runs out.

ORIGINAL MODE Clear INTERMEDIATE

Cleared ORIGINAL MODE in the INTERMEDIATE.

Intermediate is the second race. It's the same track as before but the car is a bit faster and this time we have to complete 3 laps. We don't need to win the race, it's sufficient to reach the finish line before the timer runs out.

ORIGINAL MODE Clear ADVANCED

Cleared ORIGINAL MODE in the ADVANCED.

Advanced is the third race. The track is a bit longer and the car gets a bit faster again. If you complete this track without problems, your new platinum trophy is just a matter of time. We don't need to win the race, it's sufficient to reach the finish line before the timer runs out.

Step 2 - Hi Score Mode

In Hi Score Mode we have to complete the same 3 races we've already cleared in step 1. This time we have to post one of our times to the online rankings.

HI SCORE MODE START

"HI SCORE MODE" launched.

This trophy pops upon starting this mode.

HISCORE MODE Clear NOVICE

Cleared HISCORE MODE in the NOVICE.

You already know the track. Just complete it again in Hi Score Mode.

HI SCORE MODE Player

"HI SCORE MODE" Mode score posted to online rankings.

The only difference to Original Mode is the opportunity to upload your time to online rankings. This can be done right after finishing a race. A little dialogue should pop up and ask you to upload your record. Confirm this at least once through the 3 required races to unlock this trophy.

HISCORE MODE Clear INTERMEDIATE

Cleared HISCORE MODE in the INTERMEDIATE.

Just finish the race before the timer runs out.

HISCORE MODE Clear ADVANCED

Cleared HISCORE MODE in the ADVANCED.

Just finish the race before the timer runs out.

Step 3 - Caravan Mode

Caravan Mode is slightly different to the first two. Here we only need to race once if we manage to rack up a mileage of 9000. The easiest and shortest way to do this is on the Advanced track, because the car there is the fastest.

CARAVAN MODE START

"CARAVAN MODE" launched.

This trophy pops upon starting this mode.

CARAVAN MODE Mileage 3000

Achieved CARAVAN MODE mileage of 3000.

Please refer to CARAVAN MODE Mileage 9000.

CARAVAN MODE Mileage 6000

Achieved CARAVAN MODE mileage of 6000.

Please refer to CARAVAN MODE Mileage 9000.

CARAVAN MODE Mileage 9000

Achieved CARAVAN MODE mileage of 9000.

To reach a Mileage of 9000 we need to complete slightly more than 3 laps on the Advanced track before the timer runs out.

CARAVAN MODE Player

"CARAVAN MODE" Mode score posted to online rankings.

You can post your mileage record as soon as the race is over. If you cancel this dialogue by accident, you have to race again. In this case, parking the car after the first mile until the timer runs out, works as well.

Step 4 - Time Attack Mode

This mode is basically one race consisting of three races plus a bonus race if you complete the first three. You already know the races from Original and/or Hi Score Mode. The first one is the Novice track, number two is Intermediate and the last one is Advanced. Complete all three consecutively before the timer runs out. Finishing the bonus race is not necessary if you're just looking for trophies.

TIME ATTACK MODE START

"TIME ATTACK MODE" launched.

This trophy pops upon starting this mode.

CheckPoint 1

Reached Checkpoint 1 in "TIME ATTACK MODE".

Checkpoint 1 is reached when the Novice race has been finished successfully.

CheckPoint 2

Reached Checkpoint 2 in "TIME ATTACK MODE".

Checkpoint 2 is reached when the Novice and Intermediate races have been finished successfully.

CheckPoint 3

Reached Checkpoint 3 in "TIME ATTACK MODE".

Checkpoint 3 is reached when the Novice, Intermediate and Advanced races have been finished successfully.

TIME ATTACK MODE Player

"TIME ATTACK MODE" Mode score posted to online rankings.

You can either post your score to the online rankings if the timer ran out or you finished the fourth race, which is a shootout between you and our yellow Lamborghini-ish rival.

Set scores for "HI SCORE MODE", "CARAVAN MODE", and "TIME ATTACK MODE" to online rankings.

Unlocks automatically after we met the requirements for HI SCORE MODE Player, CARAVAN MODE Player and TIME ATTACK MODE Player.
